ArtsEmerson

ArtsEmerson is the professional presenting and producing organization at Emerson College, based in the heart of downtown Boston. Founded in 2010—the year the U.S. Census confirmed there was no single cultural majority in Boston—we set out to foster positive change in this historically segregated city. We did not see this change as a byproduct of the work, but rather, as the primary purpose. ArtsEmerson aims to tear down traditional cultural divisions and invest in a vibrant, connected Boston. As Boston’s leading presenter of contemporary world theater, ArtsEmerson circles the globe to select creative works that challenge and inspire, dazzle and provoke. We believe in celebrating differences, reflecting the vital diversity of our city, and deepening our connection to each other.

Our programming reflects the interdisciplinary, global, and urban nature of Boston University. The Boston University Arts Initiative develops and supports university-wide programs that build community; support interdisciplinary arts teaching, learning, and research; and highlight diverse artists and modes of artistry.

Foxborough Public Schools

The Visual Arts Department of Foxborough Public Schools is dedicated to nurturing critical thinking and visual literacy through an engaging, supportive, and collaborative studio environment. Our curriculum is designed with the whole child in mind, to foster independence through differentiated and self-directed work. We develop a lifelong aptitude and desire to learn, explore, create, and invent. The arts program is committed to the process of creating, over the product we yield. We seek to engage students in experimentation, risk taking and discovery, thereby allowing students to create their own unique solutions. Introducing students to an increasingly diverse selection of art and artists fosters opportunity, equity, and inclusivity. This allows students to see themselves in a variety of representations, inspires them to share their unique voices, and become global citizens.
