The Half Bap
Date: 17 May 2024
Local Start Time: 4:00 pm
Location: Hill Street to Writers Square, Belfast
The Cathedral Quarter of Belfast – or the Half Bap as it’s known locally – has always been a meeting place for people from diverse backgrounds. Different nationalities, cultures and religions coming together to trade, eat, drink and make art. Bordering the areas of Sailortown and Little Italy, the Half Bap has over the years been an arrival and departure point for thousands of displaced people looking for a place to call their own.
Local resident Barney and Amal explore this part of the City, rich with history and more recent stories as proposed ‘redevelopment’ has led to displacement of people and businesses once again. Who knows what they’ll discover?
The format of this event is a walking theatre tour. The meeting point is at Commercial Court on Hill Street from 3.45pm.
Suitable for all ages
Directed by Stephen Beggs
