Queensboro Dance Festival
Founded in 2014 and led by local dancer/producer Karesia Batan, the Queensboro Dance Festival is an outdoor summer tour of performances presenting professional Queens-based dance companies of diverse cultures and styles. The festival brings programming into Queens neighborhood parks, plazas, and streets to promote cultural exchange and celebrate the international landscape of the borough. The worlds of folk dance and classical dance share the stage as a unified platform for underrepresented dance artists of Queens, building community among dancers and audiences as Queens neighbors. The festival also provides free rehearsal space, footage, teaching opportunities, and professional development workshops for its dancers, and outdoor programming is free to the public.
At the heart of Queensboro Dance Festival’s philosophy is bringing together Queens artists to share the joy of all things dance with the community. We are honored to accompany Amal in her journey!
